Gear up for an adventurous ride through the majestic mountains, apple orchards, and ancient villages of Kinnaur – one of Himachal Pradesh’s most scenic and culturally rich regions. This high-altitude bike trip will take you through winding mountain roads, riverside trails, and stunning landscapes, offering the perfect blend of thrill and tranquility.
Day 1: Arrival in Shimla – Local Sightseeing & Bike Check
Arrive in Shimla and check in to your hotel. Spend the day getting familiar with your bike and exploring Shimla’s colonial landmarks such as Mall Road, Christ Church, and Jakhoo Temple. Rest up and prepare for the next day’s ride. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 2: Shimla – Narkanda – Rampur (130 KM / 6–7 hrs)
Start your ride early towards Narkanda, enjoying the fresh mountain breeze and views of apple orchards. Take a short break at Hatu Peak (optional), then continue to descend through scenic valleys to reach Rampur Bushahr, a heritage town on the banks of the Satluj River. Overnight stay in Rampur.
Day 3: Rampur – Sarahan – Sangla (100 KM / 5–6 hrs)
After breakfast, ride to Sarahan, home to the beautiful Bhimakali Temple with traditional Himachali architecture. Continue your journey into the Sangla Valley, surrounded by pine forests and snow-capped peaks. Visit the riverside Baspa River and explore the quaint Sangla Village. Overnight stay in Sangla.
Day 4: Sangla – Chitkul – Kalpa (90 KM / 4–5 hrs)
Ride to Chitkul, the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border. Enjoy the raw beauty, wooden houses, and the clear Baspa River. Later, head to Kalpa, famous for its panoramic views of the Kinnaur Kailash range. Visit Roghi Village for its famous cliff-edge views. Overnight stay in Kalpa.
Day 5: Kalpa – Reckong Peo – Rampur (120 KM / 6–7 hrs)
Begin your return ride from Kalpa, passing through Reckong Peo, the district headquarters of Kinnaur. Stop for local snacks and photos along the Satluj River. Continue back to Rampur for an overnight halt. This scenic ride offers terraced fields, cliff roads, and vibrant villages.
Day 6: Rampur – Shimla (120 KM / 5–6 hrs)
Ride back to Shimla, retracing your scenic mountain route. Reflect on your thrilling journey through Kinnaur’s untamed beauty. Reach Shimla by evening, return your bike (if rented), and relax. Overnight stay in Shimla.
Day 7: Departure from Shimla
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and depart with unforgettable memories of the rugged terrains, river valleys, and cultural richness of Kinnaur. Trip ends here.
